Interference in politics by Sai Baba criticized

Gradually some Indian writers and freelance journalists are taking up the struggle against religious interference in Indian government, politics and the press. Sathya Sai Baba was recently invited by the Chief Minister of the State of Maharastra, Ashok Chavan, to his official residence, Varsa. However, this is in disregard of the Indian Constitution, the use of an official building for private purposes (as Chavan insisted it was), and both the religious right Shiv Sena and the Andhashraddha Nirmal Samiti (organisation for the eradication of superstition) have complained about this in public. Ashok Chavan is the son of the infamous S.B. Chavan, who was of central importance in the major cover up the murders in Sathya Sai Baba’s bedroom and the quashing of the CBI investigation without conclusions or any explanation.
